Adds a second HDMI display to a Windows laptop or desktop through a USB 3.0 port at up to 1920x1080@60Hz
This USB 3.0 to HDMI converter adds an external display to a Windows laptop or desktop through a single USB-A port. It supports resolutions up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz when connected to a USB 3.0 socket. The device is intended for users who need a second monitor, projector or TV for productivity or presentations.
The adapter only works with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10; it does not support Chrome OS, macOS, Linux or Vista. A USB 3.0 port is required to reach 1080p; a USB 2.0 port limits output to 800x600. The unit functions strictly as USB-to-HDMI and cannot accept an HDMI source.
The converter uses a small USB-A plug that stays inserted in the host computer. A driver must be installed once on first use, after which the adapter supports hot-plugging. No external power supply is needed, and the HDMI connector mates directly with standard display cables for daily connection and disconnection.
