Wire-free floodlight camera with solar charging

The Z-EDGE SL01 is a single-camera kit that runs on a built-in rechargeable battery and connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. An included solar panel can keep the battery topped up without wiring. The unit records 1080P video to a pre-installed 16GB microSD card and offers cloud storage with no subscription fee. It is aimed at homeowners who want a completely wireless security light they can mount anywhere.

IP65 rated for year-round outdoor use

Camera and solar panel both carry an IP65 weather-resistance rating and operate from -20°C to 60°C. Two integrated floodlights deliver a combined 400 lumens to illuminate the scene when motion is detected. The camera draws DC 5V power from its internal battery, so there are no cables to route and no Power over Ethernet requirement. Motion and human detection trigger alerts up to 26 ft away.

120° wide-angle lens sets the coverage zone

A fixed 120° viewing angle determines how much of the yard or driveway the camera can see in a single frame. Buyers who need a narrower field of view or optical zoom should look elsewhere. The 2 MP sensor captures 1920 x 1080 resolution video with night vision effective to 26 ft. Two-way audio lets you speak to visitors through the Z-EDGE app.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the SL01 camera and solar panel, and what step is often missed?

Use the included hardware to fix both units; the panel must face the sun at an angle that catches direct light, otherwise the battery will not charge enough.

What will need replacement after extended use?

The internal rechargeable battery cannot be swapped by the user; when it no longer holds charge the whole camera unit must be replaced.

What limits continuous recording during a long event?

The 16 GB micro SD card fills quickly at 1080P resolution; once full, older footage is overwritten unless you offload files.
