Rugged folio for 9.7 inch iPad

The ZAGG Rugged Book Pro is a protective folio case built for 9.7 inch iPad models. It uses a four-layer construction of polycarbonate, silicone rubber, thermoplastic polyurethane and aluminium to guard against drops, impacts, dents and scratches. The case weighs approximately 1.44 lb and is intended for users who need their tablet to survive rough daily environments.

Sustained protection in daily use

The multi-material shell maintains its impact resistance and dent resistance over extended periods rather than only during a single drop event. Corner reinforcements absorb repeated shocks from knocks against desks, counters or floors. The folio cover stays closed during transport, keeping the screen shielded from abrasive contact inside a bag.

Passive thermal management and silent operation

The aluminium layer helps spread warmth from the iPad during long work sessions without adding active cooling or fan noise. All materials are passive, so the case adds zero audible sound and draws no power from the tablet. The folio design allows full access to ports and buttons while the device remains enclosed.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.44 lb weight make the case feel heavy during all-day use?

At 1.44 lb the Rugged Book Pro adds noticeable heft but stays balanced; the folio distributes weight evenly so the iPad remains comfortable on a lap or desk for extended sessions.

What iPad model do I need to own for this 9.7" case to fit?

The case is built for 9.7-inch iPad models — check your device's screen size matches 9.7 inches before purchasing.

Will the folio's magnetic closure interfere with an older iPad's compass or wireless charging?

The case uses a standard folio magnetic latch; it works normally with older 9.7-inch iPads and does not block the rear camera or side ports.
