Pocket-Sized Photo Printer

The Zink KODAK Smile Instant Digital Printer uses Zink Technology to produce colour prints without ink cartridges or film. It connects to iOS and Android devices over Bluetooth and is controlled through the free KODAK SMILE app. The pop-open mechanism transforms the unit from a compact pocket form into a wedge that reveals the output slot. This printer is aimed at users who want instant physical photos from their smartphone wherever they are.

Thermal Performance and Power

Zink Technology applies heat to embedded dye crystals in the paper, so there are no moving print heads or liquid ink systems to generate noise or require cleaning. The device runs on an internal rechargeable battery, eliminating the need for a mains connection during use. Print speed is rated at one page per minute for both black and colour output at the specified quality level. Operation is quiet enough for casual indoor or outdoor environments.

Build Integration and Limits

The printer accepts a single paper tray loaded with 2x3 inch Zink photo paper that includes peel-off adhesive backing. It cannot scan documents; the scanner function is limited to photo capture via the companion app. The unit does not support duplex printing or wired connectivity. Users who need larger formats, higher resolutions, or network printing should consider a different class of device.
