ZKTECO KR601 RFID Access Reader

The ZKTECO KR601 is an IP65-rated RFID card reader built for door access control and attendance systems. It reads ID and M1 cards at up to 10 cm distance and outputs 26 or 34 bit Wiegand data. The unit operates on 9 to 12 V DC with a maximum current draw of 70 mA.

Indoor and sheltered outdoor installations

This reader suits installers who need a compact, weatherproof device for single-door access control with Wiegand integration. It is not intended for buyers who require multi-technology credential support such as HID Prox or DESFire, nor for projects that need OSDP communication or PoE power.

Wiegand 26/34 bit output format

The decisive specification is the 26 or 34 bit Wiegand output, which determines compatibility with the target access control panel. The reader provides two input ports for external LED and buzzer control and features red and green LED indicators with an integrated beeper for user feedback.

Questions about this item

What are the exact width, height and thickness measurements of the KR601 reader so I can check the mounting space?

The reader measures 116 mm wide, 75 mm high and 17.3 mm thick, weighing 120 g.

How do I wire the KR601 to my controller and which step is often missed?

Connect DC 9-12 V to the power terminals and the Wiegand 26/34-bit data lines; the step often missed is wiring the two input ports for external LED and buzzer control if your controller uses them.

Will the IP65-rated housing need any seal replacement or cleaning over time?

The IP65-rated ABS+PC housing is sealed for dust and water jets; no user-serviceable seals are specified, so only occasional exterior cleaning is required.
