Zoro Select 2A87B Blue Film Tape

This blue film tape comes in a continuous roll measuring 6 inches wide by 25 feet long. It uses a multipolymer film backing with an acrylic adhesive system. The roll fits a standard 3-inch core for dispenser compatibility. It serves general-purpose sealing and bundling tasks in office or light-industrial settings.

Multipolymer film backing with acrylic adhesive

The 2-mil thickness provides a conformable layer that resists splitting during unwind. Acrylic adhesive delivers consistent tack across a temperature range up to 160 degrees F. Elongation rated at 500 percent allows the tape to stretch around irregular shapes without tearing. Tensile strength is not rated by the manufacturer.

Check surface and temperature requirements

Verify that the substrate is clean, dry and compatible with acrylic adhesive before application. Confirm the operating environment stays within the 160-degree F maximum performance temperature. Ensure your dispenser accepts a 3-inch core and accommodates the 6-inch width. This tape is not rated for structural load-bearing joints.

Questions about this item

What adhesive standard does the acrylic adhesive meet for temperature resistance?

The acrylic adhesive is rated for continuous use up to 160 Degrees F, which is the maximum performance temperature for this film tape.

What core diameter and roll width are required for the dispenser or mounting setup?

The roll has a 3 in core diameter and a 6 in tape width, so the dispenser must accommodate both dimensions.

How do you apply the tape to achieve the 500 Percent elongation without tearing the multipolymer film backing?

Apply steady, even tension along the 25 ft length; jerking the film causes the thin 2 mil backing to snap before reaching full stretch.
