3M 4646 Double-Sided Foam Tape

3M 4646 double-sided foam tape provides a 1/32 in thick bond for assembly and manufacturing tasks. It suits automotive, aviation, construction and electronics work. The dark gray polyethylene foam conforms to ABS, acrylic, glass, metal, nylon and polycarbonate surfaces. A liner is included for easy handling.

Check surface and temperature limits

Verify that the substrates you plan to join appear in the compatibility list of ABS, acrylic, glass, metal, nylon and polycarbonate. The tape performs up to 300 Degrees F maximum temperature; the minimum is not rated. Ensure the application environment stays within this range for reliable adhesion.

Pre-cut pieces with included liner

Each piece measures 1 in wide by 3 in long and arrives pre-cut for immediate use. The polyethylene foam construction resists moisture for indoor and outdoor use. The included liner protects the adhesive until you are ready to apply the tape, simplifying storage and handling.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a liner separately?

The tape is supplied pre-cut with the liner already included, so no separate liner purchase is required.

How do I decide which version of the 4646 series to select?

The 4646 series is offered in a 1 in width by 3 in length pre-cut piece at 1/32 in thickness; choose this size when those exact dimensions match the joint or gap you are bonding.

What does the 300 °F maximum performance temperature mean when the tape is installed?

It indicates the bond will maintain its rated strength up to 300 °F, making the tape suitable for high-heat environments such as automotive or electronics assemblies.
