Rough Surface Painter's Tape

3M Scotch 2060 is a green masking tape built for rough and difficult surfaces. It uses a very strong rubber adhesive on a paper backing to grip brick, concrete, stucco and rough wood. The tape holds for up to five days and removes cleanly without sticky residue. It measures 1.41 inches wide by 60.1 yards long.

Who This Suits

Painters and contractors working on textured exterior or interior surfaces need this extra-strength adhesion. It is also suitable for use with lacquer coatings. Buyers who need a tape for delicate surfaces or clean paint lines on smooth walls should look at a different product. The core size is 3 inches and no dispenser is included.

Check Before Ordering

Confirm that the 1.41 inch width matches the masking area required for your project. Verify that the 3 inch core fits the tape gun or holder you plan to use. Ensure the rubber adhesive is compatible with the specific coating or substrate you are taping. The tape thickness is 6.6 mil and tensile strength is 22 lb/in.

Questions about this item

Does the 1.41" width of the 2060 tape cover the same trim lines I already mask with narrower tape?

The 1.41" width is wider than standard ¾" masking tape, so it covers more area per pass and can bridge wider gaps on trim or window frames.

Will the rubber adhesive on this 2060 tape damage the aged lacquer on my vintage cabinets?

The tape is recommended for use with or on lacquer coatings and removes cleanly for up to five days without leaving sticky residue on cured finishes.

How can I confirm the 2060 tape is holding properly on rough concrete after I apply it?

Press the 6.6 mil paper backing firmly into the texture; the 22 lb/in tensile strength should keep the green tape bonded without lifting at the edges for the full five-day window.
