What it is

3M Scotch Box Lock Packaging Tape 3950rd is a heavy-duty sealing tape designed for shipping and storage. It uses a hot melt synthetic rubber adhesive that bonds instantly to any box surface, including 100 percent recycled cardboard. The roll includes a built-in dispenser on a 3-inch core for immediate use.

How it holds up

The advanced adhesive creates a secure seal over edges and seams that resists splitting and tearing during rough handling. Its durable construction prevents slivering and delivers a smooth, quiet unwind so a single strip is enough to keep a box sealed through transit. The tape is guaranteed to stay sealed under normal shipping stresses.

What to check first

Verify that your packing workflow can accommodate a tape roll with a 3-inch core and an integrated dispenser. Confirm that the hot melt synthetic rubber adhesive is suitable for the temperature range and surface types you typically seal.
