Single-Channel HD Balun for Analog Cameras

This passive balun transmits HD video and power over a single UTP Cat5e or Cat6 cable for AHD, HD-CVI and HD-TVI cameras. It accepts 12V or 24V DC and AC input and includes a male BNC connector with a 150mm mini-coax pigtail. The ABS housing contains built-in TVS surge protection, lightning protection, wave filtering and anti-static design. It suits installers extending analog HD surveillance runs without active equipment.

Distance Limits by Format and Resolution

Colour video reaches 440m for HD-CVI 720P and 240m for HD-CVI 1080P cameras. HD-TVI 720P runs to 230m and 1080P to 250m. AHD 720P reaches 320m and AHD 960P reaches 330m. Data signals are supported up to 300m. The device provides 60 dB crosstalk and noise immunity with Grade III interference rejection. It does not support IP cameras or fibre links, and distances assume standard UTP cable quality.

Plug-and-Play Install with Surge Protection

Installation requires only a BNC connection to the camera and an RJ45 patch to the UTP run; no power supply or configuration is needed at the balun itself. Common issues include exceeding the format-specific distance limits, using cable below Cat5e specification, or omitting proper grounding for the TVS and lightning protection to function. The passive design means signal degradation cannot be compensated once the cable is terminated.
