Compact ChromeOS desktop for cloud-first workflows

The Acer CXI6 Chromebox is a Mini PC that ships with ChromeOS pre-installed and runs on an Intel Core 3 100U processor. It provides 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD for local files and Android app data. The 90 W power supply is integrated into the small chassis. It suits workers who rely on browser-based tools and managed cloud environments.

Fits behind a display or on a crowded desk

The 1.6" form factor leaves room for dual monitors and USB peripherals without a traditional tower. Wi-Fi 6E handles wireless connectivity so no Ethernet cable is required. Two memory slots are occupied by the factory 16 GB DDR4 configuration. Buyers who want more storage or a second drive bay cannot expand internally.

Steady output during long kiosk or signage shifts

The 90 W adapter and low-power Core 3 100U keep thermals stable over extended sessions. ChromeOS background updates and container workloads run without throttling the single fan. Systems that need discrete graphics or sustained multi-core rendering are not served by this platform.

Questions about this item

How does the 90 W power supply limit sustained performance?

The 90 W adapter caps total system draw, so the Core 3 100U will throttle if combined CPU, memory and SSD demand exceeds that envelope for extended periods.

What noise and heat should I expect when the Chromebox runs all day?

Fan speed ramps with the 90 W thermal load; under continuous ChromeOS workloads the unit stays warm but audible noise remains at typical mini-PC office levels.

Which display cable do I need to connect a monitor to the CXI6-C316G?

Video is carried over USB-C, so you will need a USB-C to DisplayPort or USB-C to HDMI cable or adapter matching your monitor input.
