Purpose-built 16-inch gaming laptop

This Acer Nitro 16 pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 260 octa-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8 GB GDDR7 GPU. The 16.0" WUXGA panel runs at 1920 x 1200 and 180Hz. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed. It targets players who want high refresh rates on a portable 16-inch chassis.

Upgraded memory and storage with expanded

Engineers open the factory seal to install 32GB DDR5 memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD, replacing the base 16GB and 512GB configuration. The port array adds USB-C 4, HDMI 2.1, RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet and a MicroSD reader alongside three USB-A 3.2 ports. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 replace the standard Wi-Fi 6 radio.

180Hz WUXGA display decides competitive fit

The 16-inch 1920 x 1200 panel at 180Hz is the single spec that determines suitability. It delivers the motion clarity needed for fast-paced shooters, but buyers who want higher resolution or OLED contrast should look elsewhere. The 5.38-pound weight and 0.96-inch profile remain unchanged by the upgrade.

Questions about this item

Can the 512 GB SSD be replaced with a larger drive later?

The laptop uses a PCIe SSD, so a larger PCIe drive can be installed when more storage is needed.

Which component hits its limit first during long gaming sessions?

The GeForce RTX 5060 8 GB GDDR7 GPU will reach its thermal and power ceiling before the Ryzen 7 260 processor under sustained load.

How loud and hot does the chassis get when running all day?

The 14.2 x 10.9 x 0.96 inch chassis relies on internal fans to cool the RTX 5060 and Ryzen 7 260, so surface temperatures and fan noise rise noticeably during extended high-performance use.
