15.6" QHD 240Hz Gaming Laptop

The Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-55-795C-HID5P is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop built around a 12th Generation Intel Core i7-12700H processor with 14 cores and 20 threads. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card carrying 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and 16 GB of DDR5 4800MHz dual-channel RAM.

PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe Storage Limits

Storage is provided by a 16 TB array configured as two 8 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSDs. The PCIe 3.0 x4 interface caps sequential throughput at the bandwidth of that generation, so sustained read and write speeds will not reach PCIe 4.0 or 5.0 levels. The laptop also supports SATA drives if additional expansion slots are available.

Check RAM Slots and Cooling Headroom

The 16 GB DDR5 4800MHz memory occupies two 8 GB modules, so verify whether any SO-DIMM slots remain free before planning a capacity increase. The RTX 3070 Ti runs at a 150 W maximum TGP with a 1510 MHz boost clock, so confirm your workspace can accommodate the thermal output during extended gaming or rendering sessions.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 16 TB SSD or look for a smaller capacity?

The build ships with two 8 TB M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe drives for 16 TB total. That space suits large game libraries, video projects and virtual machines without needing external storage.

What does the 240 Hz panel deliver in actual gameplay?

The 15.6 inch QHD 2560 x 1440 IPS screen refreshes at 240 Hz, so motion stays sharp in fast shooters and esports titles when the GPU can push frame rates that high.

How does the PCIe 3.0 x4 interface limit the SSD speed?

Each drive runs on a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe link, so peak sequential reads and writes are capped at the Gen 3 x4 ceiling while random access remains quick for OS and game loads.
