What This Lamp Replaces

The Acer EC.J6100.001 is a new replacement projector lamp module supplied with a pre-assembled UHP bulb and housing. It fits compatible Acer projectors and arrives ready for tool-free installation by the owner.

Practical Limits of the 180W UHP Lamp

Rated output is 180 watts with a quoted life of 2000 hours under normal operating conditions. Brightness will gradually decline as the lamp ages and replacement is required once the rated hours are reached or the projector indicates end of life.

Upgrade Context and When to Swap

This module replaces a depleted original lamp in the same projector model. The jump is worth it when the existing lamp has reached its hour limit, shows noticeable dimming or triggers a replacement warning. It is not for users seeking higher brightness than the projector's native design or a different lamp technology.

Questions about this item

Which version of the EC.J6100.001 lamp should I pick — OEM direct, OEM via Acer, OEM compatible or third-party compatible?

The four versions all use a genuine 180W UHP bulb in a ready-to-fit housing; the OEM direct and Acer-supplied units come from the original bulb maker, the OEM compatible uses a different OEM bulb maker, and the third-party compatible is built with OEM parts at a lower cost.

What does the 2,000-hour rating mean for daily use?

At typical brightness the 180W lamp is rated to last about 2,000 hours before replacement is needed; actual life varies with power mode, cooling and how often the projector is switched on and off.

Does the lamp use a standard connector that fits my Acer projector without adapters?

Yes — the module is a complete bulb-and-housing assembly built to the original EC.J6100.001 specification, so it plugs straight into the matching Acer projector.
