64-Core Threadripper Workstation

The Adamant Custom workstation is built around a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 128 threads and up to 5.4 GHz boost. It includes 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory and a 360mm liquid cooler in a Corsair 5000D tower case. The system targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded compute for rendering, simulation or large-scale data analysis.

TRX50 platform and storage layout

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard uses the sTR5 socket and provides four M.2 slots alongside eight SATA ports. Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives are installed totalling 10TB, plus a 10TB SATA hard drive. Verify that your workload can use the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and that the 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU meets any additional GPU or peripheral power draw you plan to add.

Connectivity and daily operation

Rear I/O includes two USB4 Type-C ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, plus dual LAN. Front panel adds USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Type-C and audio. The case measures 520 x 245 x 520 mm with tempered glass and holds two 3.5-inch and four 2.5-inch internal bays. A 140mm PSU fan and 120mm case fans keep acoustics low under load.

Questions about this item

What comes with the Corsair 5000D Frame case and what must I add?

The case arrives fully assembled with a 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU, 360mm liquid CPU cooler, Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard, Threadripper 9980X 64-core CPU, 128GB DDR5 ECC RAM, three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSDs totalling 10TB, a 10TB SATA HDD and RTX 5060 8GB GPU. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Which storage tier should I pick for the OS and active projects?

Use the 2TB Samsung 990 PRO as the boot and scratch drive — it reads up to 7450 MB/sec and writes up to 6900 MB/sec. The two 4TB 990 PRO units give identical speed for large datasets, while the 10TB SATA HDD suits archival storage.

What does the 64-core 3.2 GHz Threadripper 9980X deliver in a real workload?

All 64 cores and 128 threads run at a 3.2 GHz base with a 5.4 GHz max boost and 256MB L3 cache, cooled by a 360mm quiet-edition AIO, so sustained multi-threaded render, simulation or compile jobs stay near peak frequency without thermal throttling.
