Liquid-Cooled 64-Core Workstation

This workstation pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper PRO 9985WX with a 360mm AIO liquid cooler and 512GB of DDR5 ECC memory. It targets engineers, researchers and studios that need sustained multi-threaded throughput for simulation, rendering or large-scale data processing. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on a 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drive. The system arrives new and fully assembled in a Corsair 5000D FRAME case.

10TB NVMe Plus 10TB HDD Storage

Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSDs provide 10TB of combined capacity with sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s. A 10TB SATA III HDD adds 256MB cache for bulk archives and less latency-sensitive assets. The NVMe array handles active project files and scratch space; the HDD absorbs long-term retention. Workloads that exceed 10TB of hot data will require external or network storage.

PCIe 4.0 and USB4 Connectivity Limits

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard links the NVMe drives and the Nvidia RTX A400 4GB GPU through PCIe 4.0 lanes, capping each drive at the quoted 7450 MB/s ceiling. Rear I/O includes two USB4 Type-C ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. Internal headers add another Type-C Gen 2, two Gen 1, four USB 2.0 and eight SATA 6Gb/s connectors. Dual LAN ports provide wired networking. Builders needing PCIe 5.0 storage bandwidth or more than two USB4 ports must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the TRX50 AERO D motherboard fit my existing sTR5 cooler if I keep the 360 mm AIO?

The board uses the sTR5 socket so any cooler rated for that socket will mount, but the supplied 360 mm AIO is already matched to the 64-core Threadripper PRO 9985WX.

How can I confirm the three Samsung 990 PRO drives and 512 GB DDR5 ECC are running at advertised speeds?

Check BIOS for PCIe 4.0 x4 on each M.2 slot and DDR5 ECC frequency, then run CrystalDiskMark and HWiNFO to verify 7450 MB/s read, 6900 MB/s write and memory timings.

Which drives and accessories ship inside the Corsair 5000D case versus what I must add?

The case arrives with the 2 TB, 4 TB and 4 TB NVMe SSDs, 10 TB SATA HDD, RTX A400, 1200 W PSU, 360 mm AIO, front 120 mm and rear 120 mm fans, USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Type-C and audio cables pre-installed.
