Workstation for AI workloads

This liquid-cooled desktop workstation pairs a 32-core AMD Threadripper 9970X processor with 512GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX PRO 2000 16GB graphics card. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets professionals who need high core counts and certified drivers for compute-intensive tasks.

PCIe 4.0 storage limits

Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives deliver up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes on a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, while the 10TB hard drive runs on a SATA III connection. Total installed solid-state capacity reaches 10TB across the three M.2 slots.

Check motherboard and power headroom

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D board occupies a full-size ATX footprint with four M.2 connectors and eight SATA 6Gb/s ports, so verify your rack or bench space accommodates the 520 mm deep Corsair 5000D case. The 1200W 80 PLUS Gold supply must remain on a circuit that can sustain its rated load.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2 TB or 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO for the primary NVMe drive?

The 2 TB 990 PRO is installed as the first M.2 drive; the two 4 TB 990 PRO units occupy the second and third slots, giving 10 TB total NVMe capacity.

What does the Threadripper 9970X 4.0 GHz base clock mean once the CPU is under sustained load in this chassis?

The 32-core processor can boost up to 5.4 GHz with 128 MB L3 cache, cooled by a 360 mm liquid cooler and a 140 mm PSU fan in the Corsair 5000D Frame case.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 link on the RTX PRO 2000 16 GB affect real-world GPU throughput?

The RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell 16 GB connects via the TRX50 chipset; the motherboard provides PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 lanes and USB4 Type-C ports for high-speed peripherals.
