64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 512GB of DDR5 ECC memory. A 1200W 80 PLUS Gold power supply feeds the CPU, 6TB of NVMe storage, a 10TB SATA hard drive and an Nvidia RTX 5070 12GB graphics card. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the Samsung 990 PRO boot drive.

Suited to multi-threaded compute and large datasets

The 64 cores and 128 threads handle rendering, simulation and AI workloads that scale across many threads. ECC memory protects data integrity during long runs. Builders who need more GPU memory for 3D scenes or who require multiple double-slot accelerators should look at a different chassis and power configuration.

6TB NVMe plus 10TB HDD headroom

The two Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes for active projects and scratch space. The 10TB hard drive adds bulk capacity for archives and backups. When the NVMe array fills, the only expansion path is the remaining M.2 slots on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard.

Questions about this item

What power supply is needed to run this 1200W unit and Threadripper 9980X?

The workstation includes a Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with a 140mm fan, Japanese main capacitors and over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection.

Can I keep my existing SATA III hard drives alongside the 10TB drive?

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard provides eight SATA 6Gb/s ports, so additional SATA III drives can be connected internally.

How do I confirm the Samsung 990 PRO SSDs are delivering their rated 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write speeds?

Run a benchmark such as CrystalDiskMark on each M.2 NVMe drive; sequential results near 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write indicate the PCIe 4.0 x4 link is operating correctly.
