64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This tower workstation is built around a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor running at 3.2 GHz with a 5.4 GHz maximum boost. It targets professionals who need high thread counts for rendering, simulation or large-scale data analysis. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and includes a 360 mm liquid cooler for sustained CPU performance.

ECC Memory and Dual NVMe Storage

The motherboard provides 128 GB of DDR5 ECC memory across a TRX50 platform with four M.2 slots and eight SATA ports. Two Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver 6 TB of combined NVMe storage at up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write. A 10 TB SATA hard drive adds bulk capacity, while the Corsair 5000D Frame case offers tempered glass panels and internal bays for future expansion.

RTX A400 4 GB Graphics Limit

The Nvidia RTX A400 4 GB card provides four Mini DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups but carries only 4 GB of video memory. This limits GPU-accelerated workloads that require larger frame buffers, such as high-resolution 3D viewport rendering or large-batch AI inference. The 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold power supply leaves headroom for a more powerful graphics card if the workload demands it.

Questions about this item

What PCIe standard do the Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives use and what sequential speeds does that cap them at?

Both the 2 TB and 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO SSDs run over PCIe 4.0 x4, limiting sequential reads to 7450 MB/s and writes to 6900 MB/s.

What case dimensions and drive bays must the build fit into?

The Corsair 5000D FRAME measures 520 mm deep, 245 mm wide and 520 mm high, and provides two internal 3.5-inch bays plus four 2.5-inch bays.

How is the CPU cooler mounted and which step is often missed?

The 360 mm AIO mounts its radiator to the case with included brackets; the step people forget is removing the protective film from the cold-plate before seating it on the Threadripper 9980X.
