Liquid-cooled 64-core Threadripper workstation

This Adamant Custom tower pairs a 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X at 3.2 GHz with 128 GB of DDR5 ECC memory and a 360 mm quiet-edition liquid CPU cooler. An Nvidia RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell GPU with 16 GB provides professional graphics acceleration. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and is marketed as AI-ready for demanding compute workloads.

Check TRX50 motherboard connectivity

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D board supplies two USB4 Type-C ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports at the rear, plus internal headers for additional USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 devices. Eight SATA 6 Gb/s and four M.2 connectors are available mid-board. A 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold Thermaltake unit powers the build with Japanese main capacitors and a 140 mm low-noise fan.

Replaces older multi-socket render nodes

Two Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives totalling 6 TB deliver sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s, while a 10 TB SATA III HDD with 256 MB cache adds bulk storage. The liquid cooler and 1200 W supply support sustained all-core loads that air-cooled or lower-wattage systems cannot maintain. Buyers who need more than 128 GB memory or additional GPU slots should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What comes inside the Corsair 5000D Frame case and what must I add myself?

The tower ships with a Threadripper 9980X, 128 GB DDR5 ECC, a 2 TB and a 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe, a 10 TB SATA HDD, an RTX PRO 2000 16 GB GPU, a 360 mm liquid cooler, a 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU and Windows 11 Pro. No extra parts are required.

Should I pick the 2 TB or 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO as the boot drive?

Both drives are already installed; the 2 TB unit is the first M.2 slot and the 4 TB unit occupies the second. Each delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write, so either can serve as the OS volume.

How does the 64-core Threadripper 9980X perform once it is liquid-cooled in this chassis?

The 360 mm quiet-edition AIO keeps the 64-core 128-thread CPU at its 3.2 GHz base with headroom to reach 5.4 GHz boost, while the 1200 W Gold PSU and dual 120 mm case fans sustain full-load workloads without throttling.
