Target Workstation Build

This liquid-cooled tower is built around a 64-core Threadripper PRO 9985WX running at 3.2 GHz with 128 threads and 256 MB L3 cache. It ships with 64 GB of DDR5 ECC memory, a 2 TB plus two 4 TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO drives, and a 10 TB SATA III hard drive. The Nvidia RTX A400 4 GB handles display output and light GPU compute. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed for professional workloads such as rendering, simulation and large-scale data analysis.

Installation Notes

The Corsair 5000D FRAME case arrives assembled with a 360 mm AIO cooler already mounted on the sTR5 socket, so the CPU loop is sealed and tested before dispatch. Motherboard standoffs, power cables and drive trays are factory-fitted; only peripheral cables need connecting on site. Dual LAN ports and the rear USB4 Type-C stack are live immediately. Builders who need more internal drive bays than the two 3.5-inch and four 2.5-inch slots provided will have to plan external storage.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Japanese main capacitors feeds the CPU, three PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe drives and the RTX A400 continuously. The 360 mm Quiet Edition radiator and 140 mm low-noise fan keep coolant temperatures stable during multi-hour compiles or render jobs. Samsung 990 PRO drives maintain up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes without throttling under prolonged sequential traffic. The 10 TB SATA drive adds bulk capacity at sustained SATA III line rates.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 64-core Threadripper is running at up to 5.4 GHz after setup?

Open Task Manager or HWMonitor to confirm all 128 threads are active and the boost clock reaches 5.4 GHz under load.

What storage drives are included and what must I add for more capacity?

The system ships with a 2 TB NVMe, two 4 TB NVMe drives and a 10 TB SATA HDD; the case has two free 3.5-inch and four free 2.5-inch bays for extra drives.

Which NVMe drive should I use as the primary OS volume for fastest boot?

Install Windows 11 Pro on any of the three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives — each delivers up to 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write.
