Threadripper 9960X Workstation

The Adamant Custom tower pairs a 24-core Threadripper 9960X processor with 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX A400 4GB graphics card. A 360 mm liquid cooler keeps the CPU stable under sustained workloads. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment in professional environments.

PCIe 4.0 Storage Limits

The two Samsung 990 PRO SSDs operate on a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, delivering sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s. The 10 TB hard drive connects through SATA 6 Gb/s, capping its throughput well below the NVMe drives. Four M.2 slots and eight SATA ports on the motherboard define the total expansion ceiling.

128GB ECC Memory Headroom

The 128GB DDR5 ECC configuration handles large datasets, virtualisation and multi-application workflows without paging. Memory-intensive tasks such as simulation or rendering stay within this capacity, while workloads requiring more than 128GB will need additional modules. The four-channel architecture supports further population up to the platform maximum.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 2TB or 4TB NVMe drive as my primary boot volume?

Both Samsung 990 PRO drives reach 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes; the 4TB model simply doubles capacity for larger project files.

What does the Threadripper 9960X 4.2GHz base clock mean for sustained workloads?

The 24-core 48-thread CPU can boost to 5.3 GHz while the 360mm liquid cooler keeps temperatures in check for long renders.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 link cap the NVMe SSDs in practice?

Each drive is limited to the 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write ceiling of the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface.
