64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 512GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX 5070 graphics card. It runs Windows 11 Pro and targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded throughput for rendering, simulation or large-model training.

360mm AIO in Corsair 5000D Frame

A 360mm quiet-edition liquid cooler handles the CPU inside a Corsair 5000D Frame chassis with tempered glass panels. The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard provides dual LAN ports, USB4 Type-C, multiple USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 ports, plus four M.2 slots and eight SATA connectors for expansion. A 1200W 80 Plus Gold power supply with a 140mm fan delivers protected, low-noise power.

Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives plus 10TB HDD

Storage combines a 2TB and two 4TB Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe drives with a 10TB SATA hard drive. Sequential reads reach 7450 MB/s and writes 6900 MB/s on each NVMe unit. Buyers who need more than 10TB of high-speed NVMe capacity or a second high-end GPU for dual-card workloads should look at alternative configurations.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation caps the NVMe SSDs in this workstation?

The three Samsung 990 PRO drives run at PCIe 4.0 x4, so the bus tops out at 4.0 speeds.

What case clearance is required for the liquid cooler?

A 360 mm radiator is fitted, so the chassis must accept a 360 mm AIO mount.

How is the 512 GB DDR5 ECC memory installed, and what mistake should be avoided?

Eight 64 GB modules fill all eight DIMM slots on the TRX50 AERO D board; the common error is leaving a slot empty and breaking quad-channel operation.
