Threadripper PRO 9985WX Workstation

The Adamant Custom tower pairs a 64-core Threadripper PRO 9985WX at 3.2GHz with 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory. It is built for professionals who run multi-threaded simulations, rendering pipelines or large-scale data analysis and need a liquid-cooled platform that ships with Windows 11 Pro.

Storage capacity and headroom

Two Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives provide 6TB of combined solid-state space with sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s. A 10TB SATA HDD adds bulk capacity for archives, while four additional M.2 slots on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard leave room for future expansion.

Thermals, noise and power draw

A 360mm quiet-edition AIO cooler handles the CPU, backed by a Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 80+ Titanium unit rated at 1600W with a 140mm low-noise fan. The Corsair 5000D FRAME case includes front and rear 120mm fans to maintain airflow around the RTX 5090 32GB graphics card during sustained workloads.

Questions about this item

Will the 64-core Threadripper PRO 9985WX and TRX50 motherboard support my existing SATA III drives and DDR5 ECC modules?

The board provides eight SATA 6Gb/s ports and four M.2 connectors, so current SATA III drives connect directly; DDR5 ECC memory is the native standard for this platform.

How can I verify the liquid cooler and RTX 5090 are performing correctly after first boot?

Check CPU temperatures under load — the 360 mm AIO should keep the 9985WX well below its thermal limit — and confirm the GPU shows 32 GB VRAM in Windows 11 Pro device manager.

What storage and cooling hardware ships inside the Corsair 5000D case, and what must I add myself?

The system includes a 2 TB NVMe 990 PRO, a 4 TB NVMe 990 PRO, a 10 TB SATA HDD, 128 GB DDR5 ECC RAM, the 360 mm liquid CPU cooler, RTX 5090 32 GB GPU, and 1600 W PSU; no extra drives or cooling are required.
