Supersand Bond Slate Grey 1 Inch Joints

Supersand Bond is a polymer-modified paver sand designed for concrete paver joints up to 1 inch wide. The calibrated sand and binder mixture sets firm after water activation while retaining flexibility. It is suitable for patios, driveways, pool decks and footpaths. The waterproof bag allows flat outdoor storage on pallets.

Suitable for standard joints up to 1 inch

This product suits projects needing joints no wider than 1 inch (2.5 cm) where a haze-free result is required. It meets ASTM C-144 fine gradation for tight joints and is OSHA 29 CFR 1926.115 silica compliant. Builders needing joints wider than 1 inch or a non-polymeric loose sand should consider alternative materials.

Maximum joint width 1 inch (2.5 cm)

The single specification that decides suitability is the maximum joint width of 1 inch (2.5 cm). Supersand Bond is formulated and graded for joints up to this limit; wider joints will not perform as intended. Activation requires temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and becomes rain-safe after one hour for drainage applications.

Questions about this item

What size pavers or slabs are needed to create joints up to 1 inch for this Slate Grey sand?

The sand is designed for joints up to 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, so your pavers must be spaced accordingly during installation.

Will this polymeric sand remain stable against freeze-thaw cycles on an existing concrete paver patio?

Yes, it helps prevent erosion from freeze-thaw cycles once fully set, locking the joints while retaining flexibility.

How soon after activating the sand with water can I confirm the joints are rain-safe on my drainage project?

For drainage applications, the joints are rain-safe 1 hour after water activation when temperatures are above 32°F (0°C).
