Ampco 8254 Beryllium Copper Plier

The Ampco 8254 is a flat-nose plier made from beryllium copper and built for non-sparking environments. Its serrated jaws grip firmly without a side cutter or wire stripper. The solid joint and ergonomic blue handles deliver control for precision assembly or maintenance tasks.

Suited for non-sparking work.

This tool suits technicians who need a non-sparking, non-magnetic plier for hazardous locations. It will not serve users who require integrated cutting edges, wire stripping notches or crimping dies. The absence of a spring return also means it is not ideal for high-volume repetitive gripping.

Fits tool kits needing non-sparking grip

The 6-1/4 inch overall length allows the plier to sit in standard tool pouches or service kits. Its beryllium copper construction removes the spark risk that steel tools present near flammable vapours. The ergonomic handles free the user from hand fatigue during extended fitting or adjustment work.

Questions about this item

Do I need a specific tool belt or pouch to carry the 8254 plier?

The 8254 plier has an overall length of 6-1/4 In. and is not tether capable, so it fits standard tool pouches but cannot be secured with a lanyard.

Will the beryllium copper jaws damage softer metal fasteners I already use?

The serrated gripping surface on the 8254 provides hold without the hardness of steel, reducing the risk of marring softer fasteners during use.

How can I confirm the 8254 is performing correctly after I start using it?

The jaws should open smoothly to the full 3-3/8 In. maximum, grip wire firmly with the serrated tips, and show no sparking when striking metal surfaces.
