What it is

The Ankey Ankey-DP01 is a DisplayPort male to VGA female adapter that lets a computer with a DisplayPort output connect to a monitor, projector or HDTV that only accepts a VGA input. It supports video resolutions up to 1920x1080 at 60Hz and also 1920x1200, but does not carry audio and is not a bi-directional or active converter. The pack contains four black adapters with gold-plated connectors for corrosion resistance.

Sustained use

Gold-plated contacts and a moulded strain-relief collar protect the signal path from oxidation and cable fatigue during daily plugging and unplugging. The passive design draws no external power, so there is no circuitry to overheat during long presentation sessions or extended desktop use. Maximum supported resolution remains 1920x1080 at 60Hz regardless of session length.

Installation notes

Plug the DisplayPort end into the source device and attach a separate VGA cable (not included) to the adapter's female port; no driver installation is required. The adapter only works from DisplayPort to VGA, so it cannot be used to connect a VGA source to a DisplayPort display. Ensure the host system outputs a compatible 1080p or 1920x1200 signal for a stable picture.
