42U Networking Enclosure

The APC AR3140 is a 42U server rack designed for high-density networking deployments. It supports a static load of 1363.64 KG and a dynamic load of 1022.73 KG. Integrated vertical cable managers and a cable-access roof handle large cable bundles. The enclosure ships with side panels, pre-installed casters, leveling feet and keyed-alike locking doors.

EIA-310-E Standard Upgrade

This enclosure replaces older racks that lack the adjustable mounting depth range of 279.00 mm to 819.00 mm. The jump is worth it when current equipment exceeds the depth limits of an existing cabinet or when cable density blocks airflow. Baying hardware allows the unit to join a row of NetShelter SX racks for expanded capacity.

Floor Space And Access Checks

Verify that the installation area accommodates the 1991.00 mm height, 750.00 mm width and 1070.00 mm depth, plus clearance for door swing and side-panel removal. The unit weighs 155.95 KG, so confirm floor loading and route access for a pallet jack or forklift. Ensure the site can accept pre-installed casters and leveling feet for final positioning.

Questions about this item

What floor space does the AR3140 need with its 750mm width and 1070mm depth?

The enclosure occupies a 750.00 mm by 1070.00 mm footprint. Allow extra clearance for front and rear door swing and for the pre-installed casters to roll into position.

Which step is often missed when bolting the AR3140 to the floor using the included leveling feet?

Installers sometimes forget to lower the leveling feet fully after rolling the rack on its casters, leaving the weight on the wheels instead of the feet.

When should the vertical cable managers supplied with the AR3140 be inspected or replaced?

Check the cable managers during any major re-cabling; replace them if the fingers or mounting brackets show fatigue from supporting heavy cable bundles.
