Colocation rack for multi-tenant sites

The APC AR3200 is a 42U NetShelter SX enclosure built for colocation facilities where customers need a minimal footprint. Its two-compartment design separates tenant equipment while the 600mm width maximises floor-space efficiency in dense data-centre rows. Security-enhanced doors and steel construction meet the physical-access requirements of shared environments. The unit ships new and complies with EIA-310-E mounting standards.

Static and dynamic load performance

The frame supports a static load of 1363.64 KG and a dynamic load of 1022.73 KG, so fully populated compartments remain stable during relocation or seismic events. Pre-installed casters and leveling feet allow precise positioning before the rack is bolted down, and the adjustable vertical rails maintain alignment under sustained weight. Baying hardware is included for rigid multi-rack installations that distribute load across the row.

Pre-installation checks for your facility

Verify that the 1991mm height, 600mm width and 1070mm depth fit through aisles, doorways and raised-floor cut-outs in your data centre. Confirm the floor can bear 140.70 KG of rack weight plus the intended equipment load without exceeding the 1363.64 KG static rating. Ensure 42U of vertical rail spacing matches your server and patch-panel heights, and plan power-distribution routing for the two isolated compartments.

Questions about this item

Does the 42U enclosure generate any fan noise or heat during continuous operation?

The rack has no built-in fans or cooling units, so it produces no noise or heat of its own; thermal load depends entirely on the equipment you install.

Which mounting rails and hardware must I already have to secure servers inside?

Adjustable vertical mounting rails and rack mounting hardware are included, matching the EIA-310-E standard for 19-inch equipment.

Will my existing 19-inch EIA-310-E gear fit the 600mm wide by 1070mm deep frame?

Yes, the enclosure follows the EIA-310-E standard and its 600mm width and 1070mm depth accept standard 19-inch rackmount equipment.
