Provides 900 VA battery backup and surge protection through nine NEMA 5-15R outlets with a USB charging port
The APC BVN900M1 delivers 900VA and 480W of backup power from a 120V input. Nine NEMA 5-15R outlets provide surge protection for connected equipment, with three wide-spaced outlets for transformer plugs. A USB Type A port adds convenient charging. The unit mounts on a floor or wall and suits routers, modems and entry-level workstations.
Under sustained load the UPS supplies a stepped approximation to a sinewave at 60 Hz ±0.1%. Typical transfer time is 6ms with a 10ms maximum when mains power fails. Backup time at half load is 10.2 minutes at 240W. Automatic voltage regulation is not included, so the unit does not correct brownouts or over-voltages without switching to battery. Audible alarms and LED status indicators report On Line, On Battery and Building Wiring Fault conditions.
This model upgrades from unprotected power strips by adding battery runtime and surge, lightning and overload protection on every outlet. The jump is worthwhile when a brief outage would drop an internet connection or lose unsaved work. It is not suited for loads exceeding 480W, for equipment requiring pure sinewave output, or for installations needing automatic voltage regulation. Self-testing battery management gives early warning when replacement is needed.

The unit uses a stepped-approximation sinewave and has no fan, so it stays silent on mains and produces only a brief relay click plus the audible alarm beeps when running on battery.
You need devices with standard 120 V NEMA 5-15 plugs for the outlets and a USB-A cable for the port; the UPS itself plugs into a 120 V wall socket.
Yes, the auto-sensing input accepts 50/60 Hz ±5 Hz and the 6ms typical transfer keeps most legacy gear running without interruption.
