What this Apple TV does

The Apple TV MGY52LL/A is a 4K HDR media player with 32GB of integrated storage for movies, music and photos. It streams content to a television over HDMI and includes a Siri Remote with a Touch surface for navigation and voice search. The device is aimed at viewers who want a simple way to access streaming apps, games and personal media in a living-room setting.

Check your TV and network first

Your television needs an HDMI input that supports 3840 x 2160 resolution to receive the full 4K HDR signal. A USB 2.0 port is available on the unit for service or accessories, but it does not replace the HDMI connection. The player connects to your home network wirelessly, so a stable Wi-Fi signal in the living room is required for smooth streaming and App Store downloads.

Sustained streaming behaviour

During extended viewing sessions the 32GB of onboard storage keeps frequently used apps and cached media locally, reducing re-buffering when the network fluctuates. The hardware maintains the 3840 x 2160 output continuously without dropping resolution, and the fanless design runs silently throughout long playback periods.
