ARECONT VISION AV8185CO 8MP 180° Security Camera

8MP 180° Surround Video Camera

The Arecont Vision AV8185CO is an 8 megapixel security camera that captures a 180° surround view at a resolution of 6400 x 1200 pixels. It uses a 1/2 inch colour sensor with an 8 mm focal length and supports H.264 and MJPEG compression. The unit mounts on a surface and includes back light compensation plus automatic gain control for balanced exposure.

Suits wide-area monitoring.

This camera suits installers who need a single device to cover a broad horizontal scene such as a hallway, forecourt or retail floor. Buyers who require optical zoom for distant identification or a narrower field of view with higher pixel density should look at alternative form factors. The fixed 8 mm focal length and 180° coverage define its operational envelope.

6400 x 1200 resolution across 180° view

The horizontal resolution of 6400 pixels spread over the 180° field of view is the specification that decides whether this model meets the required pixel-per-metre density for the intended scene. If the target area demands finer detail at the edges of the panorama, a different sensor or lens combination will be necessary.
