The Arkare ALT-1203 is a 12V 3A AC to DC power adapter rated at 36W maximum output. It suits owners of CCTV cameras, routers, LED strips, Bluetooth speakers, GPS units and similar 12V devices that draw up to 3A. The unit accepts a universal 100V to 240V input at 50 or 60Hz for worldwide mains compatibility. Indoor use only as the housing is not waterproof.

Installation and tip selection

The package includes ten interchangeable DC tips covering 5.5x2.1mm, 5.5x3.0mm with pin, 2.5x0.7mm, 6.3x3.0mm, 5.5x1.7mm, 4.8x1.7mm, 4.0x1.7mm, 3.5x1.35mm, 3.0x1.1mm and a terminal connector. Polarity is fixed centre positive so devices requiring centre negative cannot be powered. Users must verify the exact jack size and polarity of their equipment before connecting to avoid damage.

Practical limits of the 12V 3A barrier

Output current is capped at 3A so any device needing more than 36W at 12V will overload the adapter. The fixed 12V output cannot serve 5V, 9V or adjustable-voltage gear. Operating temperature range is -20°C to 50°C; storage extends to 85°C. The barrel connector supplied on the cable is 5.5x2.5mm so tips must mate securely with that base.
