Quad-band WiFi 7 mesh node

The ASUS BQ16 Pro is a single quad-band WiFi 7 mesh router designed for homes up to 4,000 square feet. It delivers combined wireless rates of up to 30,000 Mbps across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and two 6 GHz radios, each running 4x4 streams. Multi-Link Operation and 4096-QAM increase throughput and reduce latency for compatible devices. The unit works alone or expands with any AiMesh-compatible ASUS router.

AiProtection Pro and Smart Home Master

Commercial-grade AiProtection Pro powered by Trend Micro provides subscription-free network security scans and intrusion prevention. Smart Home Master lets you create up to three separate SSIDs for IoT, guest and primary traffic, with integrated VPN client and server support. Parental controls include web and app filters, time scheduling, safe browsing and a reward system for managed profiles. A USB 3.0 port enables 4G or 5G mobile tethering as a failover WAN source.

Twelve internal antennas and multi-gig ports

Twelve internal antennas and sixteen front-end modules radiate coverage in all directions without external aerials. The chassis measures 8.58 by 6.96 by 2.83 inches and weighs 3.97 pounds, with passive cooling for silent operation. Wired connectivity includes one 10G WAN/LAN port, one 10G LAN port, one 1G WAN/LAN port and two 1G LAN ports for high-speed backhaul or wired clients. A reset/WPS rocker switch and single power LED keep the front panel minimal.

Questions about this item

Will the twelve internal antennas ever need replacement or maintenance?

The twelve internal antennas are built into the unit and have no user-serviceable parts, so no antenna maintenance or replacement is required.

What limits throughput first when the 6 GHz radios run at 11529 Mbps continuously?

The 10G WAN/LAN and 10G LAN ports cap wired backhaul at 10 Gbps, which becomes the bottleneck before the 6 GHz radios reach their 11529 Mbps PHY rate.

How much heat does the unit produce when all four 4x4 bands operate all day?

Sixteen high-power front-end modules and twelve internal antennas are cooled by a robust passive dissipation design with no moving parts, so the chassis stays warm but silent during continuous quad-band operation.
