Adds 3,300 sq. ft. of WiFi 7 coverage with quad-band speeds up to 27Gbps and one 10G plus two 2.5G Ethernet ports
Model Orbi 970
Model Satellite
This Netgear RBE970-100NAS is a single add-on satellite that expands an existing Orbi 970 Series mesh system. It delivers quad-band Wi-Fi 7 connectivity with twelve internal antennas and a 2.2 GHz quad-core processor. Each unit adds up to 3,300 sq. ft. of wireless coverage and supports up to 200 concurrent devices. The satellite requires a compatible Orbi 970 router sold separately.
This satellite suits owners of an RBE971, RBE972S or RBE973S system who need to eliminate dead zones in larger homes. It provides one 10 Gbps and two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports for wired devices. It is not for buyers who do not already own a compatible Orbi 970 router, nor for those needing a standalone router or a starter mesh kit with multiple units included.
The decisive specification is that this satellite cannot function without an Orbi Quad-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 Router (model RBE971) purchased separately. It connects via a dedicated 5 GHz backhaul channel (8,647 Mbps) to extend the mesh. Without the required router, the hardware provides no network service.

Other versions of this model
The quad-core 2.2GHz processor drives the twelve internal antennas and manages up to 27Gbps aggregate wireless throughput across the quad-band radio, forwarding traffic through one 10Gbps and two 2.5Gbps LAN ports without a separate fan.
The unit uses passive cooling only; the twelve high-power internal amplifiers and 2.2GHz processor dissipate heat through the chassis, so there is no fan noise during continuous operation.
This add-on satellite requires a separately sold Orbi Quad-band Mesh WiFi 7 Router (model RBE971) or a compatible RBE972S or RBE973S system to function.
