16-inch WUXGA 165 Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615JMR-DS94 is a 16-inch gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i9-14900HX 24-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with Windows 11 Pro, 16 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz dual-channel RAM and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD. The IPS-level display runs at 1920 x 1200 resolution and 165 Hz refresh rate.

Check power adapter and port needs

The system draws high load from the i9-14900HX at up to 5.8 GHz turbo and the RTX 5060, so verify your docking station or travel adapter can supply sufficient wattage. Confirm the 13.94 x 10.55 inch footprint fits your bag or desk space and that the 0.90 to 1.21 inch thickness clears any sleeve. Ensure any external monitor you plan to use supports the native 1920 x 1200 output over the available video ports.

Suits high-refresh competitive play.

The 165 Hz WUXGA panel and RTX 5060 combination targets competitive shooters and fast-paced titles at 1920 x 1200. Content creators needing 4K colour-accurate output or users who want upgradeable memory beyond the soldered 16 GB DDR5 should consider alternative models. The 6.02 lb weight and 2025-era thermal upgrades favour stationary setups over frequent travel.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz memory be enough for modern AAA games at 1920 x 1200 resolution?

The laptop ships with 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) of DDR5 5600 MHz dual-channel memory. For most current AAA titles at 1920 x 1200 this capacity is sufficient, though some newer releases may benefit from 32 GB for high texture packs or heavy multitasking.

Does the RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7 support the 165 Hz panel fully in competitive shooters?

The 16" WUXGA IPS-level display runs at 165 Hz. The RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7 can drive high frame rates in competitive shooters at 1920 x 1200, letting you take advantage of the panel's refresh rate.

What does the Gelid GC Extreme and Conductonaut thermal paste upgrade actually change for daily use?

HIDevolution applies Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU and Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU. This lowers peak temperatures under sustained load, reducing fan noise and helping maintain higher boost clocks during long gaming sessions.
