ROG Strix G16 G615JMR gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615JMR is a 16-inch Windows 11 Pro gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card. It targets users who want high frame rates in modern titles and enough multi-threaded power for content creation or streaming.

16 GB DDR5 memory and 8 TB NVMe storage

The system ships with 16 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz dual-channel RAM and 8 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage configured as two 4 TB drives. That memory capacity handles current games and typical multitasking, while the storage array provides extensive space for large libraries. Heavier workloads such as video editing or virtualisation may require more RAM than the 16 GB fitted.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7

The discrete GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 equipped with 8 GB of GDDR7 video memory. This single specification determines whether the laptop can meet the graphical demands of your preferred games and applications at the 1920 x 1200 native resolution.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB of DDR5 5600MHz memory work with the existing RAM sticks in my current laptop?

The system ships with 16 GB configured as 2 x 8 GB DDR5 5600MHz dual channel modules. Compatibility depends on your current laptop's supported memory type, speed and maximum capacity, which differ by model.

How can I confirm the RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7 is running at full performance after setup?

Open the NVIDIA control panel or GPU-Z to verify the GPU is detected as an RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7. Run a benchmark or demanding game and check that clock speeds reach expected boost levels while temperatures stay within normal limits.

What storage drives are included and do I need to buy any caddies or cables to add more?

The laptop includes 8 TB total storage as 2 x 4 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs pre-installed. Both M.2 slots are occupied, so adding more storage would require replacing a drive; no caddies or cables are needed for the factory configuration.
