Ryzen 9 9950X desktop for creators and gamers

This ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 pairs a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9950X running at 4.3 GHz with an AMD Radeon RX 9070 graphics card. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR5 memory and a 2 TB NVMe drive provide capacity for modern games and content-creation workloads. A 360 mm liquid cooler and 750 W power supply support sustained high loads. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

Upgrade from older AM4 or mid-range AM5 builds

The jump is worthwhile when your current system cannot feed a 16-core processor and 16 GB GDDR6 GPU simultaneously. Builds limited to four memory slots or a smaller power supply will see the largest gains in multithreaded rendering and 1440p gaming. Systems already running a Ryzen 9 9000 Series CPU with 64 GB DDR5 will notice a smaller relative improvement.

PCI Express x16 and DDR5 platform limits

The GPU connects through a PCI Express x16 slot, so bandwidth scales with the motherboard generation installed in the chassis. Four DDR5 slots are populated, leaving no room for memory expansion without replacing modules. The 750 W unit caps total system draw, restricting future GPU upgrades to cards within a similar power envelope.

Questions about this item

Will the 360 mm liquid cooler radiator fit in my chassis?

The 360 mm radiator needs a mounting area that accepts a 360 mm radiator — typically the front, top or rear of the case — with clearance for the fans and tubing.

How is the CPU liquid cooler installed, and what step is often missed?

The CPU block mounts on the AM5 socket; the radiator and fans attach to the case. A common miss is forgetting to remove the protective film from the cold-plate before seating the block.

What maintenance or replacement will the liquid cooling loop need later?

The sealed 360 mm AIO loop is maintenance-free for its service life; if pump noise or temperatures rise years later, the entire cooler would be replaced rather than refilled.
