ASUS TUF A16 gaming laptop

The ASUS TUF A16 is a 16 inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS processor with eight cores and sixteen threads. It pairs that CPU with an AMD Radeon RX 7700S graphics chip, sixteen gigabytes of DDR5 memory and a one terabyte SSD. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed.

Best for mobile gamers and creators

The 165 Hz WUXGA display and discrete Radeon graphics suit players who want smooth motion in competitive titles and enough GPU power for modern AAA games at high settings. Content creators gain eight core CPU performance for rendering and encoding tasks. Buyers needing a lighter ultrabook, longer unplugged runtime or a higher resolution panel should look elsewhere.

165 Hz WUXGA display decides fit

The sixteen inch panel runs at 1920 by 1200 resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate, so motion clarity in fast games is the defining specification. If your workflow or favourite titles benefit from that refresh rate at this resolution, the laptop matches the requirement. If you need 4K detail, OLED contrast or a touchscreen, this screen will not meet those needs.

Questions about this item

Does the box include the 1920 x 1200 165 Hz panel and Windows 11 Pro, or must I buy an OS licence separately?

The laptop ships with the 16.0 inch 1920 x 1200 165 Hz display and Windows 11 Pro already installed, so no separate operating system purchase is needed.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR5 configuration or plan for the 64 GB maximum later?

The unit comes with 16 GB of DDR5 memory; the board supports up to 64 GB, so you can start with the factory amount and add modules later if workloads demand it.

What does the Ryzen 7 7735HS 4.75 GHz boost mean for frame rates in a 165 Hz machine?

The 8-core 16-thread processor can hit 4.75 GHz boost clocks, feeding the Radeon RX 7700S graphics fast enough to keep many modern titles near the display's 165 Hz refresh ceiling at 1920 x 1200.
