Gaming laptop with 15.6" 144Hz display

The ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX517ZR is a 15.6 inch gaming laptop running Windows 11 Home. It pairs a 12th Generation Intel Core i7-12650H processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. The system includes 16 GB of DDR5 4800MHz memory and an 8 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD. A 144Hz FHD IPS-level panel completes the core specification.

10-core Alder Lake CPU for multitasking

Ten cores and sixteen threads give the i7-12650H strong multi-threaded throughput for content creation and heavy multitasking. The RTX 3070 with 8 GB GDDR6 handles modern titles at high settings on the 1080p screen. Buyers who need a higher refresh rate, a higher resolution panel, or more than 16 GB of system memory should consider other configurations.

8 TB NVMe storage and 16 GB DDR5

Dual 4 TB NVMe drives provide 8 TB of fast storage capacity for large game libraries and media projects. Sixteen gigabytes of dual-channel DDR5 4800MHz supports demanding applications and smooth multitasking. Memory-intensive workloads that exceed 16 GB will rely on the fast SSD for paging, while the 8 GB GDDR6 frame buffer limits texture resolution in the most VRAM-heavy scenarios.

Questions about this item

Does the FX517ZR come with Windows 11 Home already installed so I can start gaming without buying an OS?

Yes, the laptop ships with Windows 11 Home pre-installed and activated, so you can log in and play immediately.

Will my existing PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe drives work as secondary storage alongside the 8 TB that is already fitted?

The chassis includes two M.2 slots; both are occupied by the 4 TB drives that make up the 8 TB total, so no free slot remains for an additional PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe drive.

How can I confirm the RTX 3070 is running at its full 8 GB GDDR6 capacity after the Gelid GC Extreme paste upgrade?

Open GPU-Z or the NVIDIA control panel — both will report 8 GB GDDR6 video memory and the 3070 name, confirming the GPU is recognised with its full specification.
