TUF Dash F15 FX517ZR gaming laptop

The ASUS TUF Dash F15 FX517ZR is a 15.6 inch FHD 144Hz gaming laptop built for users who need high frame rates and fast storage in a portable chassis. It runs on an Intel Core i7-12650H processor with 10 cores and 16 threads, paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card with 8GB GDDR6 video memory. The system includes 32GB of DDR5 4800MHz dual-channel memory and 8TB of PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD storage across two 4TB drives. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed.

Sustained load behaviour with Gelid GC Extreme

HIDevolution applies Gelid GC Extreme thermal interface material on the CPU and GPU to improve heat transfer during extended sessions. The 10-core Alder Lake processor reaches a maximum turbo frequency of 4.7 GHz, and the upgraded compound helps maintain higher clocks for longer without throttling. A full burn-in stress test validates temperature stability before shipment. The 24 MB Smart Cache supports consistent throughput for memory-hungry applications and multitasking.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The laptop measures 13.94 by 9.88 by 0.78 to 0.81 inches and weighs 4.41 lbs, allowing a slim profile for a 15.6 inch device. Gelid GC Extreme on both processors reduces peak temperatures, which lets the cooling fans run at lower speeds during typical gaming or productivity workloads. The 144Hz IPS-level display operates at 1920 x 1080 resolution. LAN and WLAN communication modules are integrated.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the i7-12650H and RTX 3070 get when the laptop runs all day?

The builder applies Gelid GC Extreme thermal compound on the CPU and GPU, then runs burn-in stress tests to verify temperatures stay in check during sustained loads.

What must I already own for the FX517ZR to work out of the box?

The laptop ships with Windows 11 Pro installed, 32 GB DDR5 4800 MHz memory, and 8 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe storage, so no extra parts are required to start working.
