Universal USB 2.0 CD Player

The Audiovox 6543688675 is a portable external CD player that connects through a USB 2.0 interface. It reads CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW discs using a slot-load mechanism. The unit draws power directly from the host USB port at 5 V and 1 A, so no separate power supply is needed. It is finished in black and weighs about 700 grams.

Android Navigation Users and PC Owners

This device suits drivers whose car head unit runs Android 4.0 or later and supports USB media playback, as well as users with Windows PCs or Android smart TVs that can read USB storage. It will not work with non-Android car stereos, with vehicles lacking a USB port, or with head units that cannot interpret USB mass-storage devices. Buyers who need skip protection or Bluetooth streaming should look elsewhere.

Plug-and-Play Build Integration

Installation is non-destructive: plug the USB cable into the car navigation host, PC or TV and the player is recognised automatically. The drive can be mounted horizontally, vertically or at an angle thanks to electronic shock resistance. It frees the dashboard from a built-in optical bay and adds disc playback without wiring a separate 12 V supply. A media player app on the host must support the disc format being used.

Questions about this item

What car system must I already have for this CD player to work in my vehicle?

The unit requires a car Android navigation head unit running Android 4.4 or later with a USB 2.0 port that can read USB flash drives and has a built-in CD player app.

Will the player still read discs if I mount it vertically or at an angle in the car?

Yes, the slot-load mechanism is designed to operate horizontally, vertically or tilted without affecting disc reading.

How can I confirm the player is functioning correctly after I plug it in?

Insert a CD-R or CD-RW disc; the head unit should automatically recognise the disc and begin playback through the car speakers.
