Orange boombox with CD and AM/FM

The Proscan Elite PRCD261-orange is a portable CD boombox with an integrated AM/FM tuner, two built-in 13-watt stereo speakers and an auxiliary input for phones or MP3 players. It plays standard CDs and MP3 discs, runs on C batteries or the supplied AC adapter, and weighs 1.302 kilograms with a carry handle for transport.

Families wanting simple playback

This unit suits listeners who want a single device for discs, radio and wired streaming without pairing steps or app control. It does not serve buyers who need Bluetooth connectivity, a rechargeable battery pack, a remote control, or a smaller footprint for tight shelves.

13 watts per channel stereo output

The two speakers each deliver 13 watts for a 2.0 stereo sound stage that fills a medium room. If your listening space demands higher volume or deeper bass, a system with greater amplifier power and larger drivers will be required.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the PRCD261-orange so I can check shelf fit?

The unit measures 14.33 inches wide by 12.83 inches high by 9.06 inches deep, making it compact enough for most shelves or countertops.

How do I power the boombox for the first time, and what is the common mistake?

Plug the included AC adapter into the DC jack or insert six C batteries observing polarity; the frequent error is mixing battery orientation which prevents power-up.

Which parts will need replacement during the life of this CD player?

The six C batteries are the only consumable; the laser pickup and belt-drive mechanism are not user-serviceable and would require professional repair if they fail.
