It uses USB 3.0 for 5 Gbps data transfer, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0, and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1. No external power required for basic use

The switch draws power from the connected computers and needs no separate adapter for typical peripherals. A micro-USB power port is provided to stabilise high-draw devices such as hard drives or headsets when needed. Green LEDs show which computer is active at a glance.
