Xbox-ready portable drive

The Avolusion HD250U3-Z1-PRO is a 2TB portable hard drive pre-formatted for Xbox consoles. It adds storage to Xbox One, One S, One X, Series X and Series S without opening the console. The drive draws power from the USB port so no separate adapter is needed. It suits gamers who want instant extra space for games and captures.

Thermals noise and power

The aluminium chassis acts as a passive heatsink during normal use. Bus-powered operation keeps the power draw within the USB 3.0 port limit. No fan is fitted so the drive runs silently. The slim 2.5 inch form factor helps heat dissipate across the metal surface.

Pre-formatting and connectivity

The drive arrives formatted for Xbox so it is recognised immediately on first connection. SuperSpeed USB 3.0 provides a 5.0 gbps interface for fast game transfers. A USB 3.0 cable is included for plug-and-play setup. No extra software installation is required on the console.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 2.5" drive on my Xbox One without opening the console?

Connect the USB 3.0 cable to the console's USB 3.0 port; the drive is bus-powered and pre-formatted for Xbox so it appears immediately — no AC adapter or internal installation needed.

What maintenance will the 2TB portable drive need over time?

No scheduled maintenance is required; keep the aluminium chassis ventilated and avoid physical shocks to the 2.5" mechanism inside.

What is the first limit I will hit during sustained transfers on the USB 3.0 link?

The interface caps sustained throughput at 5.0 gbps, so long sequential reads or writes will saturate at that rate before the drive itself becomes the bottleneck.
