Portable PS4 storage drive

This Avolusion Z1-S drive adds 1TB of external storage to a PlayStation 4, PS4 Pro, PS4 Slim or PS5. It connects through a USB 3.0 port and draws power from the console, so no separate power adapter is needed. The unit comes pre-formatted for immediate use with PlayStation systems. Its white aluminum chassis helps dissipate heat during extended sessions.

Console gamers needing simple expansion

The drive suits players who want to install more games without opening their console or managing internal hardware. A blue LED indicates data activity at a glance. It is not for users who need an internal upgrade for the PS5 expansion slot or who require capacities beyond 1TB. Builders looking for a desktop drive with a different form factor should consider other options.

USB 3.0 interface at 5.0 gbps

The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connection delivers transfer rates up to 5.0 gbps, which determines how quickly games load and files move between the drive and the console. This single interface spec is the deciding factor for compatibility with the supported PlayStation models. The 2.5-inch mechanism fits inside the slim, bus-powered enclosure.

Questions about this item

Does the 5.0 Gbps USB 3.0 link stay at full speed during long gaming sessions?

The drive uses a 2.5-inch mechanical disk behind the USB 3.0 interface, so sustained transfers will settle at the disk’s own rate rather than the 5.0 Gbps link ceiling.

How hot or loud does the aluminum chassis get when the drive runs all day?

The aluminum case acts as a passive heatsink and the drive is bus-powered, so it stays warm but silent — no fan, no external power brick.

What must my console or PC already have for this drive to work?

A free USB 3.0 Type-A port; the drive is pre-formatted for PS4/PS5 and draws all power from that single connection.
