40 Gbps QSFP+ transceiver for Force 10 switches using SR4 optics
This QSFP+ transceiver delivers 40 Gbps connectivity over multimode fibre for Force 10 networking equipment. It is built for data-centre links that require short-range optical transmission using the SR4 standard. The module suits administrators upgrading or expanding 40 Gigabit Ethernet fabrics. Compatibility is limited to the specified vendor platform.
The transceiver operates within standard QSFP+ power limits for 40G SR4 optics. Heat output is consistent with typical short-range modules under continuous load. No active cooling is required beyond normal chassis airflow. Acoustic contribution is negligible in a populated switch environment.
Measured against everything we stock in Switch Modules, Transceivers & Add-Ons, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Align the module with the QSFP+ port, slide it in until the latch clicks, then insert the MPO cable fully; the step often missed is removing the dust caps from both the transceiver and cable ends before insertion.
The optical interfaces require periodic cleaning with a lint-free swab and isopropyl alcohol; replace the module if link errors persist after cleaning or if the transmitter output degrades below specification.
