Three-Pack SATA 6Gbps Cables

This three-pack supplies three 50 cm SATA 6Gbps cables with straight 180-degree connectors and locking latches. The green nylon-braided cables connect motherboards or host controllers to internal hard drives, SSDs or optical drives. They are suited for builders adding storage or configuring RAID arrays.

SATA 3.0 Interface Limits

The cables conform to SATA revision 3.0 and support up to 6 Gbps transfer rates. Actual throughput is limited by the drive and controller capabilities, and the link remains backwards compatible with earlier SATA revisions. Cable length is fixed at 50 cm, which restrains routing options in larger chassis.

Straight Connectors With Locking Latches

Each end uses a straight connector with a locking latch that secures the plug against vibration or movement. The nylon braid resists tangling and protects the tinned copper core and aluminium foil shield. Installers must ensure the latch engages fully; partial insertion can cause intermittent detection. The 50 cm length may be too short for routing behind motherboard trays in some cases.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 3-pack or buy single cables?

The 3-pack gives you three 50 cm green cables with locking latches, ideal if you are wiring multiple drives or a RAID array; single cables make sense only for a lone drive upgrade.

What does the 6 Gbps rating actually deliver inside my PC?

The cable supports the SATA 3.0 ceiling of 6 Gbps, but real-world throughput tops out at the speed of the slowest connected drive or controller — often well below the theoretical maximum.

Does the SATA 3.0 interface limit anything in practice?

SATA 3.0 caps the link at 6 Gbps and is backwards compatible with SATA I and II, so older drives will work but run at their native slower speeds.
