Baldwin PT9418 hydraulic cartridge

The Baldwin PT9418 is a new hydraulic filter element designed for Caterpillar equipment. It uses a cartridge design with a reinforced centertube and carries a 25 micron rating. The element measures 9 inches in height and length with an outside diameter of 5 1/8 inches. No thread size applies to this filter element.

Simple cartridge replacement

Installation involves removing the old cartridge and inserting the PT9418 into the existing housing. The reinforced centertube helps maintain structural integrity during pressure cycles. Ensure the housing sealing surface is clean to prevent bypass leakage. The absence of threads means alignment depends on the housing bore and end-cap fit.

Suits Caterpillar hydraulic systems

This filter suits maintenance on Caterpillar machinery requiring a 25 micron cartridge with these dimensions. It is not for buyers who need a spin-on canister with integrated threads. It is not for systems specifying a different micron rating or different physical envelope. Buyers needing a complete housing assembly should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the PT9418 hydraulic filter is sealing correctly after installation?

Check that the reinforced centertube sits flush in the housing and monitor system pressure; a stable 25 micron rating indicates the element is filtering as designed.

What components come with the PT9418 and what must I source separately?

The box contains the cartridge element with its reinforced centertube only; mounting hardware, seals and any adapter fittings for Caterpillar equipment are not included.

Which version of the PT9418 should I choose for my Caterpillar hydraulic system?

Select the 9418 model with a 25 micron rating and 9 inch length when your Caterpillar equipment calls for those exact specifications.
