Cat6 Gigabit patch cable for wired networks

This BattleBorn Cat6 patch cable connects network devices at Gigabit Ethernet speeds using RJ45 connectors. It suits home and office wiring where a reliable copper link is required. The red jacket helps identify the run among other cables.

Practical limits of the Cat6 standard

Cat6 supports up to 1000 Mbps over a maximum channel length of 100 metres. Performance depends on the quality of every connector, patch panel and switch port in the path. Electromagnetic interference near power cables can reduce throughput. The 10 foot length stays well within the distance limit.

Snagless boot simplifies installation

A moulded snagless boot protects the latch during routing through trunking or around corners. Push the connector until the tab clicks to ensure a secure seat. The most common fault is a bent or broken latch caused by pulling on the cable instead of the boot. Inspect the boot before deployment.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 10 foot length or a shorter run for my desk setup?

The 10 foot cable reaches across a room or under a desk without excess slack; pick a shorter run only if the two ports are closer together.

Will the 1000 Mbps rating actually give me Gigabit throughput on my router?

Yes, the Cat6 construction supports full Gigabit Ethernet speeds when both connected ports also run at 1000 Mbps.

Does the RJ45 connector work with standard Gigabit ports on my PC and switch?

The RJ45 plug fits any standard Ethernet jack, so it connects PCs, switches, routers and cameras without adapters.
